Claudia, originally from Indonesia, is a food enthusiast who has made Dublin her home. She has been filling Instagram and TikTok feeds with delectable food and drink recommendations under her page, EatDrinkDub. An adventurer at heart, Claudia is on a mission to help food lovers experience the best of Dublin's dining scene, from must-visit spots to hidden gems.

First Table (FT): Who is Claudia, and what is EatDrinkDub all about?

Claudia (C): I was born and raised in Indonesia. I moved to Ireland to pursue my Masters and now I am living with my dear husband, John in Dublin. EatDrinkDub is a social page run by me, based in Dublin, Ireland. The page is filled with food and drink recommendations in Dublin. EatDrinkDub aims to help food lovers experience the best dining in Dublin from the must-visit spot to the hidden gem.

FT: What sparked your love for food, and how did it inspire you to start @eatdrinkdub?

C: Growing up, I was exposed to diverse cuisines and flavours through travelling with my family and exploring different restaurants with friends. I enjoyed the experience of trying new dishes, discovering unique flavours, and the way food brought people together. This passion for food and the growth of social media inspired me to start an Instagram account focused on food and restaurant recommendations. I wanted to share my culinary adventures, showcase delicious meals, and provide helpful insights to fellow food enthusiasts.

FT: As a foodie, what's the secret to spotting a great restaurant? Is there anything you look for when deciding which restaurants to showcase?

C: When it comes to spotting a great restaurant, there are a few things to consider. Some factors to look for might include consistent positive reviews, the quality of ingredients, and the creativity and attention to detail in their menu, presentation, and flavours. As for deciding which restaurants to showcase, it depends on personal preferences and the intended audience. Factors to consider might include the restaurant's uniqueness, local popularity, the diversity of their menu, the ambiance, and their contribution to the local food scene.

FT: What's the one piece of advice you'd give to someone who wants to explore Dublin's food scene?

C: If you're interested in exploring Dublin's food scene, my advice would be to check out my page @eatdrinkdub on Instagram and TikTok for recommendations! Dublin's food scene is fun and diverse, featuring food and drinks from all over the country with a unique touch.

FT: Could you share a 'hidden gem' dish from a Dublin restaurant that you think everyone should try?

C: I believe ‘Library Street’ is the spot! Library Street is a restaurant and wine bar where the food is meant to be shared. They offer a menu of Irish seasonal food, influenced by French and Italian cuisine. You certainly know already that this place is special.
